The Faith of Beasts

Humanity has been defeated taken as captives by the Carryx empire, joining probably hundreds of other slave species. Humanity must show utility to the Carryx or be killed. Previously teamleader of scientists, Sovran has become the human arbiter/representative to the Carryx; he must keep captors happy and at the same time plot for his race to an eventual victory over the captors. It’s a space soap opera with lots of little plot devices that center around the ways that species cooperate, coopt and combat one another.
